Clatter LabsHelp Center

My request works in cURL but not in my SDK. Why?

TroubleshootingUpdated

Usually one of these:

  • No default header: add X-Clatter-Account (default_headers in Python, defaultHeaders in JavaScript).
  • Base URL not set, so the SDK calls OpenAI's servers with your Clatter Labs key.
  • Different endpoint: some SDK helpers call the Responses API; use chat.completions.create.
  • Environment variables set in your shell but not where the app runs.

Compare the SDK's request with your cURL by logging the outgoing headers (without printing the full key).

Good to know#

  • Keep keys on your server, never in a browser or mobile app. Why
  • Each key has its own limit: 10, 30 (default), 60 or 120 requests per minute. Rate limits
  • Every call shows in Console › Logs and Usage as Model API, with its price. See what you spent
