What is the $5 free credit?

Every new account starts with $5 of credit, once per account. It pays for API usage (Model API and Agent API) at normal prices, on any model.

Roughly, on Flash, $5 covers about 3 million input tokens or about 1.47 million output tokens, so plenty for trying things out.

Accounts that received the earlier one-time Model API trial spend what's left of it first. When credit runs out, calls answer 402 out_of_credits until you top up.
