What do I need before I can use the Model API?

Four things:

1. A Clatter Labs account. Sign up at accounts.clatterlabs.com.
2. Credits. New accounts start with $5 of free credit. After that, top up from $1 in Console › Billing › Credits. A plan isn't required: the Model API works on every plan, Free included.
3. An API key with the models:invoke permission (Console › API keys, preset Model API).
4. Your Account ID (CL-…) from Console › Settings, sent as X-Clatter-Account on every request.

Then any tool that can send HTTPS requests works: cURL, the OpenAI SDKs for Python or JavaScript, or plain fetch.

• Keep keys on your server, never in a browser or mobile app. Why
