How can I make my Line CLI usage last longer?

How-toUpdated

Usage is counted by tokens at the rate of each effort, so fewer and cheaper tokens go further.

Tips#

  1. Pick the right effort. Flash for simple edits; Max or Heavy only when the problem needs thinking.
  2. Start fresh for new tasks. /new drops old context you no longer need.
  3. Compact long sessions. /compact summarizes the conversation; every later step then sends less.
  4. Stay under 262K tokens of input when you can: above that, input counts at 1.5×.
  5. Be specific. Name files (@src/app.ts) so Line reads less to find them.
  6. Use LINE.md so you don't repeat project rules in every prompt.
  7. Check /context to see what's filling the window.

Cached tokens are reported in /usage and /cost; Line keeps its history stable so earlier messages can be reused efficiently.
