/cost shows dollars. Am I being charged that?
No. /cost shows what the session's tokens are worth at list price. Line usage is covered by your plan, so that value counts toward your plan's limits; nothing is charged to your card or taken from your credits for it.
You pay only your plan's monthly price (nothing on Free). The dollar figure helps you compare tasks and efforts, for example to see that a task on Heavy used more than the same task on Flash.
