What is Line CLI?

ExplainerUpdated

Line CLI (the line command) is a coding agent that lives in your terminal. You describe what you want in plain words, and it reads your project, edits files and runs commands to get it done, asking for your approval first.

What it can do#

  • Read, write and edit files, with a diff preview before changes are applied.
  • Run shell commands such as builds and tests (it asks first by default).
  • Search your code, search the web and read documentation pages.
  • Split big jobs across parallel sub-agents on your own machine.
  • Remember your project's rules through a LINE.md file.

What it runs on#

Line CLI runs on SuperCosmos 1.1, the Clatter Labs model, with three efforts: Flash, Max and Heavy. It is written in Rust, so it starts fast and uses little memory.

Is it finished?#

Line CLI is in beta. The current version is 0.9.0-beta ("v9 beta"). Versions follow semver, and pre-releases are marked -beta.
