Can Line CLI build a whole app or website for me?
Yes. Line can create a new project in an empty folder: it writes files, installs dependencies (with your approval), runs the dev server in the background and checks its work.
Tips for a smooth build#
- Start in a new empty folder and run
line. - Ask for a plan first:
/plan build a to-do web app with a login page. - Approve the plan, then let Line work. Use accept edits mode (Shift+Tab) if you don't want to approve every file.
- Ask it to run the app and the tests at the end.
What to expect#
- Long files are written in parts so they don't get cut in transit.
- Dev servers and watchers run in background shells;
/basheslists them, and all of them stop when Line exits. - Big jobs may be split across general sub-agents working on different files in parallel.
Line doesn't host your app on the internet for you. Deploying it is up to you.
