Can I use Line CLI in Arabic?
Yes. You can type to Line in Arabic and get answers in Arabic. Line lays out right-to-left text natively in the terminal: letters are joined, words appear in the right order, and paragraphs are right-aligned, mixed with English and code. Code blocks stay left-to-right.
The /rtl command#
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/rtl auto | Detects Arabic and lays it out (default behaviour) |
/rtl on | Always use Line's RTL layout |
/rtl off | Turn Line's RTL layout off |
/rtl terminal | Your terminal already handles bidirectional text, so Line leaves it alone |
Your choice is saved in your settings, so it stays next time.
Tip#
If Arabic looks reversed twice or letters are broken, your terminal may also be reordering text. Try /rtl terminal. If letters look disconnected, try /rtl on.
/arabic and /bidi are aliases for /rtl.
