What is a coding agent?

ExplainerUpdated

A coding agent is an AI model that can do things in a project, not just talk. It works in steps: it looks at files, decides what to change, makes edits, runs commands, checks the result, and repeats until the task is done.

How Line keeps you in control#

Line CLI is a coding agent, so it uses approvals. In the default ask mode, every file edit and command waits for your OK. File edits are checkpointed, so /undo and /rewind can take them back. Plan mode lets it research and propose a plan without changing anything.
