I can't create another API key. Is there a limit?

Yes. An account can hold up to 25 API keys at a time. The keys page shows a counter like "12 of 25 active keys".

Make room#

1. Open API keys.
2. Revoke keys you no longer use (check Last used).
3. Create your new key.

Not counted#

The managed Console Playground key, labelled "Used by the Playground · not counted", doesn't count toward the 25.

Need lots of keys?#

If you're building something that seems to need a key per end user, keep one key on your server and call the API on their behalf instead. Keys should never be handed to end users.

Good to know#

• Each key has its own rate limit: 10, 30 (default), 60 or 120 requests per minute.
• Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
