How do I revoke an API key?
- Open Console › API keys.
- Find the key by its name and hint.
- Select Revoke on its row.
- Read the confirmation: "Apps using <hint> stop working right away. This can't be undone."
- Select Revoke key.
The key's status changes to Revoked. To see revoked and expired keys, switch the list filter from Active to All.
Before you revoke#
If an app still needs access, create its replacement key first and switch the app over, so it doesn't go down. If the key leaked, don't wait: revoke first, then replace.
Good to know#
- Each key has its own rate limit: 10, 30 (default), 60 or 120 requests per minute.
- Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
