Can one API key work for the Agent API, the Model API and Code Buckets?

FAQUpdated

Yes. The same clsk_ key format is used across the Agent API, the Model API and Code Buckets. What a key may do depends only on its permissions:

  • Agent API needs runs:write / runs:read.
  • Model API needs models:invoke.
  • Code Buckets needs buckets:read, buckets:write and/or backups:write.

The Full access preset includes all of them.

Should I?#

For quick personal experiments, one key is fine. For anything real, give each service its own key with only what it needs. If one leaks, you revoke just that key, and the Key column in Logs tells you which service did what.

Good to know#

  • Each key has its own rate limit: 10, 30 (default), 60 or 120 requests per minute.
  • Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
