How do I clean up old API keys?

How-toUpdated
  1. Open API keys with the filter on Active.
  2. For each key, check Name, Access and Last used.
  3. Revoke keys that:
    • show Never and aren't waiting to be deployed,
    • belong to projects you've stopped,
    • have more access than they need (replace with a smaller key first).
  4. Switch to All to see expired and revoked keys for your records.

Cleaning up keeps you under the 25-key limit and means fewer secrets that could leak.

Good to know#

  • Each key has its own rate limit: 10, 30 (default), 60 or 120 requests per minute.
  • Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
  • Every API request sends your key and your Account ID (X-Clatter-Account: CL-…); a key alone is refused.
