What is two-factor authentication?

ExplainerUpdated

Two-factor authentication (2FA) means signing in takes two things: something you know or receive (your password or an email code) and something you have (an authenticator app on your phone that shows a new 6-digit code every few seconds).

If someone steals your password or gets into your email, they still can't sign in without your phone.

Clatter Labs 2FA works with authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or any TOTP app. Set it up under Security in accounts.clatterlabs.com. See How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
