What happens when I revoke an API key?

FAQUpdated
  • Immediately, every request with that key fails with 401 invalid_api_key, on every Clatter Labs API.
  • An open Agent API event stream using it ends with an error event.
  • A run that's still going and that you want stopped: cancel it with another key that has runs:write.
  • Usage it made stays in your Logs and Usage.
  • The key can't be turned back on. Revoking is permanent.

Your other keys, your plan, credits and data are not affected.

Good to know#

  • Each key has its own rate limit: 10, 30 (default), 60 or 120 requests per minute.
  • Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
  • Revoking is immediate and permanent: requests fail with 401 invalid_api_key.
