How do I create a key for the Model API?

1. API keys › Create API key.
2. Choose the Model API preset. It gives the key one permission: models:invoke.
3. Pick a rate limit and expiry, then Create key.
4. Copy the key. The dialog shows a ready curl call to https://api.gateway.clatterlabs.xyz/v1/chat/completions with your Account ID filled in.

Model API calls are pay as you go from your credits. New accounts get $5 of free credit.

If you use an Agent API key (without models:invoke) on the Model API, it answers 403 insufficient_scope.

Good to know#

• Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
• Revoking is immediate and permanent: requests fail with 401 invalid_api_key.
