What is an Account ID?

ExplainerUpdated

Your Account ID is a permanent identifier for your Clatter Labs account. It starts with CL- followed by eight letters and numbers, for example CL-7K2M9QXA. You may also see it called your Cloud ID.

What it's used for#

  • Every API request (Agent API, Model API, Code Buckets) sends it in the X-Clatter-Account header, next to your API key.
  • Checkout links your plan or credit purchase to your account through it.
  • Support can find your account quickly when you include it.
  • Teams: the team's ID is the owner's Account ID.

Is it secret?#

Not in the way an API key is. On its own it can't do anything. But it's one half of what an API request needs, so there's no reason to post it publicly together with a key.

Does it ever change?#

No. It stays the same for the life of your account, even if you change your name or email.
