How do I fix 401 missing_account_id?

Every keyed request must send your Account ID:

X-Clatter-Account: CL-XXXXXXXX

1. Copy your Account ID from Console Home or the account menu.
2. Add the header to every request. With an OpenAI SDK, use default_headers / defaultHeaders.
3. Spell it exactly X-Clatter-Account.
4. Make sure a proxy isn't stripping custom headers.

Tools that let you set only a base URL and key, with no extra headers, can't call the API yet.

Good to know#

• Branch your code on the error code, not the message.
• On 429, wait the Retry-After seconds before retrying.
• A new key's secret is shown only once. Clatter Labs stores only a hash, so a lost key can't be recovered.
