Why can't I see my API key again after creating it?

Keys are shown once, at creation. Clatter Labs stores only a keyed hash of the key, not the key itself, so nobody (including our team) can show it to you again.

If you lost the key#

1. Open API keys in the Console.
2. Create a new key with the same permissions and rate limit.
3. Update your app or secret store with the new key.
4. Revoke the old key so it can't be used if it turns up somewhere.

Avoid it next time#

Paste the key straight into a password manager or secret manager when it's shown. Don't keep it in chat messages, tickets or screenshots.
