What is the X-Clatter-Account header and why is it required?
Every keyed Agent API request sends two headers:
Authorization: Bearer clsk_...
X-Clatter-Account: CL-7K2M9QXA
X-Clatter-Account is the Account ID that owns the key.
Why two headers?#
A key alone isn't enough: the request must also name the account that owns it. So:
- A key that leaks without its Account ID can't be used.
- A key sent with someone else's Account ID is refused.
What you see when it's wrong#
| Situation | Response |
|---|---|
| Header missing | 401 missing_account_id |
| Account ID doesn't own the key | 401 account_mismatch |
Matching is case-insensitive, so cl-7k2m9qxa works too. Copy your Account ID from the Console Home page. See Authentication.
