Is Heavy always better than Flash?
No. Heavy is better at hard problems because it reasons longer. On everyday tasks the extra thinking mostly adds time and cost.
The published numbers show this: in Benchmark 2, the combined coding score was Flash 31/33 (93.9%), Max 30/32 and Heavy 30/32 (93.8%), essentially the same. Heavy's median time per task was 8.7 s versus 3.5 s for Flash, and cost per 1,000 tasks was $3.64 versus $1.64. Heavy did score highest on honesty (22/22).
Start with Flash or auto; move to Heavy when a task keeps failing.
