What is a request and a response?

ExplainerUpdated
  • Request: what your program sends: the address (POST /v1/chat/completions), headers (your key and Account ID) and a body (the model and messages).
  • Response: what comes back: a status code (200 for success), headers (like X-Request-Id) and a body (the answer in choices[0].message.content and the token usage), or an error.

One request gets one response. With streaming, the response arrives in many small pieces.

Good to know#

  • Model ids: supercosmos-flash, supercosmos-max, supercosmos-heavy (SuperCosmos 1.1). Which to call
  • Base URL: https://api.gateway.clatterlabs.xyz/v1, with Authorization: Bearer clsk_... and X-Clatter-Account: CL-... on every call. Quick reference
  • If calls fail unexpectedly, check status.clatterlabs.com before debugging further.
