Is it safe to pipe the install script into sh?
Piping a script into sh runs it right away, so it's sensible to know what it does. The Line installer is served over HTTPS from install.clatterlabs.xyz and verifies the binary's SHA-256 checksum before installing.
Read it before you run it#
curl -fsSL https://install.clatterlabs.xyz/line -o line-install.sh
less line-install.sh
sh line-install.sh
On Windows:
irm https://install.clatterlabs.xyz/line.ps1 -OutFile line-install.ps1
notepad line-install.ps1
.\line-install.ps1
What it doesn't do#
- It doesn't need or ask for
sudo. - It only writes the binary, a temporary folder it deletes, and one PATH line in your profile (which you can turn off with
LINE_NO_MODIFY_PATH=1).
