How does the Line CLI installer work?
The installer is a short script served from install.clatterlabs.xyz. It does five things:
- Detects your system: macOS or Linux and x86_64 or aarch64 (the PowerShell script installs the Windows x86_64 build).
- Finds the latest version from the release manifest, with the SHA-256 checksum for your build.
- Downloads the binary.
- Verifies the checksum. If it doesn't match, it stops: "checksum mismatch — the download may be corrupted or tampered with; nothing was installed".
- Installs and sets PATH: copies to
~/.line/bin, and adds that folder to your shell profile or Windows user PATH.
It then prints how to get started: cd your-project && line and line login.
install.clatterlabs.xyz is the only official download host for Line CLI.
