Can Line CLI handle a very large codebase or monorepo?

FAQUpdated

Yes. Line doesn't need to read everything at once:

  • repo_map gives the agent a ranked outline of the most central files, with function and type signatures.
  • glob and grep find files and code quickly (they respect .gitignore).
  • SuperCosmos 1.1 has a 1M-token context window, and Line auto-compacts at about 80%.
  • Sub-agents can explore different parts in parallel and report back.

Tips for big repos#

  • Start Line in the root of the part you're working on, not your whole home folder.
  • Write a LINE.md describing the layout ("apps/web is the frontend, services/billing is Go").
  • Name the files or folders in your request.
