What are the x-clatter-notice headers?

ReferenceUpdated

A request that earned a warning under the Abuse policy still succeeds normally, and carries two headers:

HeaderValue
x-clatter-noticeabuse_warning
x-clatter-notice-textThe warning text, URL-encoded

Both are exposed for CORS, so browser code can read them. Log them and alert yourself when they appear: a second strike within 30 days pauses your account for 24 hours. Decode the text with decodeURIComponent (JavaScript) or urllib.parse.unquote (Python).

Good to know#

  • Retry only 429 and 5xx errors, with backoff; honour Retry-After when it's sent. Which errors to retry
  • Every response has an X-Request-Id; log it so a request can be found later. Why log it
  • Base URL: https://api.gateway.clatterlabs.xyz/v1, with Authorization: Bearer clsk_... and X-Clatter-Account: CL-... on every call. Quick reference
