What is the models:invoke permission?

ReferenceUpdated

models:invoke is the key permission that allows calling models through the Model API (POST /v1/chat/completions). The Model API preset in the Console sets it for you.

PermissionAllows
models:invokeCall models through the Model API
runs:writeCreate and cancel Agent API runs
runs:readRead Agent API runs, events and results
account:readRead credit balance and usage

A key without models:invoke gets 403 insufficient_scope on the Model API. Give each key only what it needs. Listing models (GET /v1/models) doesn't need any key.

Good to know#

  • Retry only 429 and 5xx errors, with backoff; honour Retry-After when it's sent. Which errors to retry
  • Model ids: supercosmos-flash, supercosmos-max, supercosmos-heavy (SuperCosmos 1.1). Which to call
  • Every response has an X-Request-Id; log it so a request can be found later. Why log it
