If I retry a request, am I charged twice?
Each completed request is billed from its own usage. If the first attempt completed and you retry anyway (for example after a client timeout), you pay for both. To avoid it:
- set client timeouts generous enough for Max and Heavy,
- stream long replies,
- retry only on errors that mean the call didn't complete (429, 5xx, errors inside a stream).
Check Console › Logs to see what each attempt cost.
