Can I call the Model API from a spreadsheet or no-code tool?

FAQUpdated

If the tool can send an HTTPS POST with a JSON body and custom headers (Authorization and X-Clatter-Account), it can call the Model API. Be careful: a key typed into a shared spreadsheet or automation is visible to everyone with access. Use a dedicated key with a low rate limit and revoke it when you're done.

Good to know#

  • Retry only 429 and 5xx errors, with backoff; honour Retry-After when it's sent. Which errors to retry
  • If calls fail unexpectedly, check status.clatterlabs.com before debugging further.
  • Every response has an X-Request-Id; log it so a request can be found later. Why log it
