line update failed. How do I fix it?
Match the error to the fix:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "couldn't check for updates" | Line couldn't reach the release server. Check your internet or proxy, then retry. |
| "checksum mismatch for the downloaded binary …; not updating" | The download was damaged or changed on the way. Retry, or try another network. Nothing was replaced. |
| "couldn't write next to …" | Line has no permission to write in its install folder. On Windows, close other line windows. Elsewhere, check the folder's owner. |
| "the release manifest has no checksum for …; not updating" | No build for your system in that release. Report it to support. |
