How do I update Line CLI?
Run:
line update
Line checks the latest release, downloads the build for your system, verifies its SHA-256 checksum and replaces itself. You'll see either:
- "Line CLI is up to date (v9 beta)." or
- "Updated Line CLI v8 beta → v9 beta (checksum verified). Restart line to use it."
Other ways#
- Inside the app:
/update - Run the installer again (same result).
line update --forcereinstalls the latest version even if you already have it.
Does Line update by itself?#
No. Line doesn't install updates in the background; you run line update when you want to. Your settings, sign-in and sessions are kept across updates. See what changed in the changelog.
