Why does Windows say "line is not recognized" after installing?
Usually the terminal was opened before the installer updated your PATH. Open a new PowerShell or Terminal window and try line --version again.
If it still isn't found#
- Check the file exists:
Test-Path $HOME\.line\bin\line.exeshould printTrue. - Check your user PATH contains it:
Look for[Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable('Path', 'User')...\.line\bin. - If it's missing, add it:
Then open a new window.$d = Join-Path $HOME '.line\bin' [Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable('Path', "$d;" + [Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable('Path','User'), 'User') - Run it directly as a test:
& "$HOME\.line\bin\line.exe" --version.
Other causes#
- You installed with
LINE_INSTALL_DIRset to another folder: use that folder instead. - An editor's built-in terminal (for example in an IDE) may need the whole app restarted to pick up the new PATH.
