"command not found: line" on macOS after installing

TroubleshootingUpdated

Your current Terminal window doesn't know about ~/.line/bin yet. Close and reopen Terminal, or run the line the installer printed:

export PATH="$HOME/.line/bin:$PATH"

Still not found?#

  1. Check the file: ls -l ~/.line/bin/line
  2. Check your profile has the PATH line (marked # Line CLI):
    • zsh: ~/.zshrc
    • bash: ~/.bash_profile and ~/.bashrc
    • fish: ~/.config/fish/conf.d/line.fish
    • others: ~/.profile
  3. If your shell is different from the one the installer saw, add the export line to the right profile yourself.
  4. If you set LINE_NO_MODIFY_PATH=1, the installer didn't touch your profile on purpose.
