Can I install Line CLI from Git Bash, MSYS or Cygwin on Windows?

TroubleshootingUpdated

No. If you run the curl … | sh script in Git Bash, MSYS or Cygwin, it stops with: "On Windows, run in PowerShell: irm https://install.clatterlabs.xyz/line.ps1 | iex".

Do this instead#

  1. Open PowerShell.
  2. Run irm https://install.clatterlabs.xyz/line.ps1 | iex.
  3. The Windows build is installed to %USERPROFILE%\.line\bin\line.exe and added to your user PATH.

After that, you can usually run line from other Windows terminals too, as long as they read your Windows PATH.

What about WSL?#

WSL is a real Linux environment, so there you use the Linux installer. See Install Line CLI in WSL.
