What am I looking at in the Line CLI screen?

ReferenceUpdated

The Line screen has the conversation at the top, the input box at the bottom and a status bar with live numbers.

Parts of the screen#

  • Conversation: your messages, Line's answers (Markdown, code and tables), and each tool call with its result. File edits show a diff.
  • Thinking line: what the model is doing while it works. Hide model thinking with /config thinking off.
  • Approval prompt: when Line wants to edit or run something in ask mode, you approve or decline.
  • Agents panel: live status of sub-agents running in parallel.
  • To-do panel: the agent's current plan (also /todos).
  • Input box: type here. Enter sends; Shift+Enter, Alt+Enter or Ctrl+J adds a new line.
  • Status bar: tokens, the context meter, the current mode and files created/changed with lines added and removed.

Scrolling#

Use the mouse wheel or PgUp/PgDn. The view stays where you left it while output streams. Shift/Ctrl+↑↓ moves one line; Ctrl+Home/End jumps to the top or bottom.
