Does Line CLI work offline?

FAQUpdated

No. The Line program runs on your computer, but the model that thinks and writes the answers, SuperCosmos, runs on Clatter Labs infrastructure. Every step needs a connection.

What happens if my connection drops?#

  • Line notices and redoes the step. When you're offline it gives up sooner (after 3 redos) instead of waiting a long time.
  • Your session is saved after every step, so nothing is lost. When you're back online, run line -c in the same folder to continue.
  • Typical messages: "Can't reach the Line API … Check your connection or proxy." or "The connection to the Line API dropped mid-reply."

What does work without internet?#

Things that don't need the model: line --version, line --help, line skill list, line plugin list and reading your saved sessions on disk.
