Which key should a monitoring dashboard use?

How-toUpdated

Use the Read only preset, or customise it to exactly what the dashboard shows:

  • runs:read — run status and results.
  • account:read — credit balance and 30-day usage (GET /v1/account).
  • buckets:read — Code Buckets listings.

A read-only key can't start runs or call models, so if it leaks it can't spend your credits. Give it a low rate limit if the dashboard refreshes slowly.

Good to know#

  • Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
  • Revoking is immediate and permanent: requests fail with 401 invalid_api_key.
  • Every API request sends your key and your Account ID (X-Clatter-Account: CL-…); a key alone is refused.
