How do I give a key a custom set of permissions?
- In API keys, select Create API key.
- Next to Permissions, select Customize.
- Tick the permissions you want. They're grouped under Agent API, Model API and Code Buckets, each with its exact name (like
runs:read). - The preset row now shows Custom (unless your choice happens to match a preset).
- Set the rate limit and expiry, then Create key.
Examples#
- A status dashboard that shows run progress and your balance:
runs:read+account:read. - A CI job that uploads build files but shouldn't delete or restore backups:
buckets:read+buckets:write. - An app that only chats with SuperCosmos:
models:invoke.
Select Hide details to fold the list away again.
Good to know#
- Keys can expire after 30 days, 90 days (default), 1 year, or never.
- Revoking is immediate and permanent: requests fail with
401 invalid_api_key.
