My key works on my laptop but gets 401 from a hosted environment. Why?
If the same key and Account ID work from one machine but fail with 401 account_mismatch or invalid_api_key from another environment, something there may be changing your request:
- A proxy or gateway that injects its own
Authorizationheader for that host. - An environment variable holding an older key.
- A tool that strips custom headers like
X-Clatter-Account.
Log the exact headers your code sends (without the full key), and test from a plain network with cURL.
