Who is the Cosmos Agent API for?

FAQUpdated

The Agent API is for anyone who wants an AI coding agent to do work from their own software rather than in a chat window.

Typical users#

  • Developers who want to hand off tasks from a script, a bot or a backend: "add tests for this module", "write a migration", "check this page renders".
  • Teams that run automation in CI: a job that starts a run when a ticket is labelled, then posts the result.
  • Companies building products on top of an agent, such as an internal tool that lets staff request small code changes.
  • Learners exploring how agents work, using the Try it button in the docs.

What you need#

  • A Clatter Labs account and its Account ID (CL-…).
  • An API key from Console › API keys.
  • Credits. New accounts start with $5 of free credit; the API is pay as you go on every plan.

When it is not the right fit#

If you want to code interactively in your own terminal, Line CLI is usually a better match. Cosmos runs on Clatter Labs infrastructure, not on your machine, so it can't touch files on your computer directly.
