What are sub-agents in a run?

ExplainerUpdated

For bigger jobs, Cosmos can split the work across sub-agents that run at the same time, then bring their results together.

What you need to know#

  • You don't create sub-agents yourself; Cosmos decides when to use them.
  • You can encourage it: "Work on the frontend and backend in parallel."
  • They work inside the same run, which has a limit of 150 steps.
  • Cancelling a run stops it at its next step, along with any sub-agents it started.
  • Their token use, computer time and actions are billed to the run like any other work.
