Can I run Line CLI in a Docker container?

How-toUpdated

Yes. Line is a single static binary, so it runs in most Linux containers.

In a Dockerfile#

RUN apt-get update && apt-get install -y curl ca-certificates \
 && curl -fsSL https://install.clatterlabs.xyz/line | LINE_NO_MODIFY_PATH=1 sh
ENV PATH="/root/.line/bin:${PATH}"

Signing in inside a container#

There's no browser, so run line login --device and confirm the code from another device. Sign-in is stored in ~/.config/line/auth.json inside the container: if the container is thrown away, so is the sign-in. You can keep it by mounting a volume at ~/.config/line, but treat that folder as a secret.

Tip#

Use line -p "…" (print mode) for one-shot tasks in scripts. See Run Line CLI in print mode.
