How do background shells work in Line CLI?
Long-running commands such as dev servers, watchers or long builds run in background shells, so Line can keep working while they run.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/bashes | List background shells with status and command |
/bashes <id> | Show new output |
/bashes kill <id> | Stop one |
The agent reads them with bash_output and stops them with kill_shell. All background shells are stopped when Line exits.
Also: a normal command that outlives its timeout (default 120 seconds, up to 30 minutes) is moved to the background instead of being killed.
