Can I share my API key with a teammate?

FAQUpdated

Sharing a key means you can't tell who did what, and you can't take access away from one person without breaking everyone.

Use a team instead#

  1. Go to Team › Invite member and invite your teammate by email.
  2. They sign in with their own Clatter Labs account and accept from their Console Inbox.
  3. They create their own keys, which run on your plan and credits.
  4. You set their access (for example only Model API & Agent API) and limits (daily quota, monthly limit).

Their requests show up under their name in your Logs, and removing them from the team cuts their access right away.

Good to know#

  • Never put a key in front-end code, a mobile app, a public repo or a screenshot.
  • If a key may have leaked, revoke it first, then replace it.
