Can I use the events feed as an audit log?
Yes, it works well as an audit trail for a bucket or project: every upload, deletion, restore, visibility change and setting change is recorded with its actor (which API key, the Console, or the system) and a timestamp.
For compliance, page through the feed on a schedule and store the events in your own system. The docs don't publish a retention period for events.
