Why did my usage window fill up so quickly?
Usage is measured at list price, so some work fills limits faster:
- Heavy costs more per token and writes the most.
- Long context: large repos or long sessions send many input tokens; above 262K tokens the input counts at 1.5×.
- Parallel sub-agents in Line CLI each make their own requests.
Check Logs for which requests were biggest, then use Flash for routine steps and start fresh sessions for new tasks.
Good to know#
- Billing shows each limit as % used with its reset time.
- The Free allowance resets on the 1st of every month, UTC.
- API calls never use your plan's limits.
