1. One backend holds the key; users never see it.
2. Authenticate your users and rate-limit them.
3. Filter input before sending it: your account is responsible for end users' text.
4. Tag runs: metadata: {"user_id": "u_123"} so you can show each user their runs.
5. Queue: only 5 runs can be in progress per account.
6. Track cost per user from your own records and GET /v1/account.
7. Watch for warnings: act on x-clatter-notice: abuse_warning.
