I'm learning to code. Is the Agent API a good way to learn?

FAQUpdated

It can be, as long as you read what Cosmos does rather than only the final answer.

A good way to learn with it#

  1. Start with tiny tasks: "Write a Python program that adds two numbers and run it."
  2. Stream the events. Each step shows a message or a command Cosmos ran, so you can see how it solved the task.
  3. Ask Cosmos to explain: "Reply with the code and a short explanation for a beginner."
  4. Run the code yourself afterwards and change it.

Keep it cheap#

  • Use "tier": "flash" or leave it on auto (billed as Flash).
  • Keep tasks small. New accounts get $5 of free credit, and runs stop with 402 out_of_credits when it runs out, so you can't overspend your balance.

Stay safe#

  • Never share your API key, even with friends. Anyone with it and your Account ID can spend your credits.
  • If you're under 18, use the account with a parent or guardian's permission.
