Can I call the Model API from a browser extension?

FAQUpdated

Don't put a clsk_ key in an extension: extension code can be unpacked and read by anyone who installs it. Instead, have the extension call your server, which checks the user and calls the Model API. That also lets you moderate input (your account is responsible for users' text) and enforce per-user limits.

Good to know#

  • Keep keys on your server, never in a browser or mobile app. Why
  • Model ids: supercosmos-flash, supercosmos-max, supercosmos-heavy (SuperCosmos 1.1). Which to call
  • Each key has its own limit: 10, 30 (default), 60 or 120 requests per minute. Rate limits
