How big is each chunk, and how many chunks can a file have?

FAQUpdated
  • Chunk size: 16 MiB (16,777,216 bytes). Every chunk is exactly that size except the last, which is the remainder.
  • Chunk i covers bytes i × chunk_size to (i + 1) × chunk_size − 1.
  • Chunks per file: up to 1,000.
  • A file under 16 MiB is one chunk.

The start response tells you chunk_size and chunk_count, so read them rather than hard-coding.
